Protecting Your Profession
The NOA and AOA advocate on behalf of the profession. Optometry is a legislated profession and the work that the NOA and AOA does insures the profession's concerns are met and addressed. The NOA and AOA continue to craft new and updated legislation so that Doctors of Optometry can continue to meet the growing needs of their patients.
Promoting Your Profession
The NOA and AOA defend Optometry before policy makers and work to elevate the profession in the arena of public perception. Today's Optometrists are on the front lines of not only eye health, but community health. Consumer awareness efforts educate the public on the importance of eye health and the leading role Optometrists play in protecting it. NOA conducts an aggressive, year-round, statewide marketing and consumer education campaign to grow the marketplace.
