NOA COVID-19 Nebraska Resources

Most Recent Items (Updated January 25, 2021):

  • Optometrists are in Phase I of the State's vaccination plan

As reported in the December NOA Update, the state plan prioritizes who will be eligible to receive the earliest COVID-19 vaccinations. Phase I prioritization has been divided into 6 tiers and optometrists and ophthalmologists are in Tier 6. It appears that any ODs who may be affiliated with referral hospitals could qualify under Tier 5. Click here to see the chart for Phase I in the December NOA Update.

NOA has received confirmation that the classification for optometrists does apply to paras and staff working optometric clinics. DHHS also notes that different areas of the state will move through the vaccination phases at different times. They advise that you should contact your local health department and make sure it is tracking your practice so that you will receive communications about when vaccinations will be available in your area. Local health departments will be contacting providers to schedule vaccination clinics.

  • COVID vaccination information and resources

Remember to use the DHHS website http://dhhs.ne.gov/Pages/Coronavirus.aspx for COVID information. There is information about vaccinations and prioritization, a list of county health departments, and other resources for providers available on the State's site.

  • New PPP Loan Forgiveness Form

The SBA has created a short form for PPP forgiveness for loans under $50,000.  Please see the attached form.  It may also be important to contact your lender as many of them will have portals set up to submit this information directly.  This action is meant to help streamline the PPP forgiveness process to provide financial and administrative relief to America's smallest businesses while also ensuring sound stewardship of taxpayer dollars.  Find more instructions on how to complete the simpler loan forgiveness form and to view the Interim Final Rule on the simpler forgiveness process
