The practice of Optometry is governed by Nebraska Statutes. Rules and Regulations governing the profession, including educational requirements, are developed and enforced by the Nebraska Board of Optometry.

Capitol

NOA represents the interest of all optometrists in Nebraska. NOA is the only advocate for optometry, ensuring that our members are listened to and are part of the health care policy decisions being made.

Legislative issues impacting the profession are more numerous and more pervasive than ever before. These issues impact EVERY doctor, regardless of mode of practice or patient base.

Maintaining relationships with elected officials is perhaps the most helpful tool in affecting positive changes in Nebraska. Contact your state senator and ask about upcoming events or how to get a sign in your yard or offer to help with the campaign. Write to your senator to ask for support of our legislative issues and the impact on the patients, the impact on the state and other supporting facts. Making these connections now will help in the future when we need their support on an issue that is important to the optometric profession.
