Why Join

When you're a member of NOA and AOA, you're part of an optometric family and you demonstrate your commitment to the profession and to your patients.

The mission of the association is to help you be more successful in your career through advocacy for your interests, growing your marketplace, and helping you advance in your clinical and practice management knowledge and skills.

As the only advocate for optometry in Nebraska, NOA works to protect your right to practice to the level of your training.  Significant changes are taking place in the healthcare marketplace.  Disruptive technologies, online retailers, other healthcare providers, and third party payers are impacting your ability to provide patient care.  Your membership helps NOA be more effective in countering these outside forces and keeps you abreast of the changes and implications for your practice.

NOA is utilizing a variety of marketing, public relations and consumer education resources to raise public awareness of the importance of eye health, vision care, and the role of optometrists.  As a member, you receive a listing in the "Find a Doctor" feature of our statewide advertising.

Education programs offered by NOA feature the latest information on clinical procedures, pharmaceuticals, technologies and scientific evidence on patient care and feature some of the country's top optometric lecturers in addition to highly-regarded colleagues from Nebraska.  Members pay half the cost of non-members for NOA-sponsored education.   In addition, the NOA Third Party Consultant keeps members apprised of important and timely local and national developments affecting your ability to get paid for your services.  Members benefit from monthly updates and special bulletins throughout the year, including billing and coding updates.   Our Consultant also engages on members' behalf to help resolve billing or reimbursement problems and questions.

NOA is the only voice that speaks for optometry in Nebraska and the only force that works to ensure that optometrists can provide primary eye care services.  All Nebraska optometrists are welcome and encouraged to be part of our optometric family.
